문화저널코리아 조정일 문화전문기자 | 회화와 캘리그라피를 결합한 감성적 작업을 이어온 박미정 작가, 작가명 동그리가 개인전 《미소를 그리다, 꽃을 피우다》를 개최한다.

이번 전시는 나무, 꽃, 감정, 기억을 주요 키워드로 삼아, 자연의 이미지와 손글씨가 하나의 회화적 언어로 어우러지는 과정을 보여준다. 박미정 작가는 일상 속에서 스쳐 지나가는 감정의 결을 나무와 꽃의 형상으로 풀어내고, 그 위에 손글씨를 더해 기억과 마음의 이야기를 시각적으로 펼쳐낸다.

특히 대표작 〈해맑은 옥희〉는 이번 전시의 정서를 상징적으로 드러내는 작품이다. 작품 속 나무와 꽃은 단순한 자연의 이미지에 머물지 않고, 작가 내면의 따뜻한 감정과 기억을 품은 서사적 장면으로 확장된다. 여기에 캘리그라피의 언어가 더해지며, 그림은 보는 작품을 넘어 읽고 느끼는 감성의 공간이 된다.

작가는 “〈해맑은 옥희〉는 마음속 햇살 같은 이야기”라며, “나무와 꽃, 그리고 글로 쌓아 올린 세계 속에 순간의 감정을 담았다. 그림을 보고 글을 읽으며 관람객의 마음에도 잔잔한 미소가 피어나길 바란다”고 전했다.

박미정 작가의 작업은 자연의 질감, 꽃의 생명력, 손글씨의 온기가 조화롭게 결합된 것이 특징이다. 그의 작품 속 글씨는 단순한 문자가 아니라 감정을 담는 선이자, 기억을 불러내는 이미지로 작동한다. 이를 통해 작가는 회화와 언어, 시각과 감성의 경계를 넘나들며 자신만의 서정적 조형 세계를 구축해 왔다.

이번 전시는 관람객에게 바쁜 일상 속에서 잠시 멈춰 마음을 들여다보는 시간을 제안한다. 꽃이 피어나듯, 미소가 번지듯, 박미정 작가의 작품은 조용하지만 따뜻한 울림으로 관람객의 마음에 다가간다.

전시는 2026년 5월 3일부터 16일까지 부산 사상구 공간 523 갤러리에서 열리며 관람 시간은 오전 11시부터 오후 8시까지이며, 관람료는 무료다.

작가 소개 _
박미정 작가는 회화와 캘리그라피를 결합한 감성 기반의 시각예술 작업을 이어오고 있다. 자연 이미지와 손글씨를 중심으로 한 서정적 회화를 통해 감정의 시각화와 기억의 서사화를 탐구해 왔다.

제1회 초대 개인전 《별빛의 숲, 예술이 되다》를 비롯해 제주 바당전, Qingdao International Art Festival, Pink Art Fair, Gratia Artist Invitational Exhibition 등 국내외 전시에 참여했으며, 국제종합예술대전 및 전국 공모전에서 다수 수상했다.

현재 한국현대미술협회 운영위원 및 국제종합예술진흥회 추천작가로 활동 중이며, 교육과 창작 활동을 병행하며 작업 영역을 확장하고 있다.

Artist Park Mi-jung Holds Solo Exhibition Painting Smiles, Blooming Flowers
 

Busan-based artist Park Mi-jung, also known by her artist name Donggeuri, will hold her solo exhibition, Painting Smiles, Blooming Flowers.

Park has continued to develop an emotionally resonant visual language by combining painting and calligraphy. This exhibition centers on the key themes of trees, flowers, emotions, and memory, presenting the process through which images of nature and handwritten text come together as a unified painterly language.

Through her work, Park transforms the fleeting emotions of everyday life into the forms of trees and flowers. By adding handwritten words to these images, she visually unfolds stories of memory, sentiment, and inner experience.

One of the representative works in the exhibition, Bright Ok-hee, symbolically reveals the emotional tone of the show. In the work, trees and flowers are not merely natural motifs, but expand into narrative scenes that hold the artist’s warm emotions and memories. With the addition of calligraphic language, the painting becomes not only an image to be seen, but also an emotional space to be read and felt.
 

“Bright Ok-hee is a story like sunlight in the heart,” Park said. “I wanted to capture the emotions of a moment within a world built through trees, flowers, and words. I hope that as visitors look at the paintings and read the words, a gentle smile will bloom in their hearts.”
 

Park’s works are characterized by the harmonious combination of the texture of nature, the vitality of flowers, and the warmth of handwritten text. In her paintings, writing is not simply a set of letters; it functions as a line that carries emotion and an image that evokes memory. Through this approach, Park has built her own lyrical visual world, moving between painting and language, image and sentiment.
 

This exhibition invites viewers to pause for a moment in the midst of daily life and look inward. Like flowers coming into bloom and smiles quietly spreading, Park’s works approach the viewer with a gentle yet warm resonance.

The exhibition will be held from May 3 to 16, 2026, at Space 523 Gallery in Sasang-gu, Busan. Viewing hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and admission is free.

About the Artist _

Park Mi-jung has continued to create emotion-based visual artworks that combine painting and calligraphy. Through lyrical paintings centered on natural imagery and handwritten text, she has explored the visualization of emotion and the narrativization of memory.
 

She has participated in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, including her first invited solo exhibition, A Forest of Starlight Becomes Art, as well as Jeju Badang Exhibition, Qingdao International Art Festival, Pink Art Fair, and Gratia Artist Invitational Exhibition. She has also received multiple awards at the International Comprehensive Art Competition and other national competitions.
 

Park currently serves as an executive committee member of the Korean Contemporary Art Association and is a recommended artist of the International Comprehensive Arts Promotion Association. Alongside her creative practice, she continues to expand her artistic scope through education and various art-related activities.
